We’ve all come across forum trolls—or just posters we’d rather not hear from. The good news is that Investor Village lets you ignore any member, one message board at a time.

If you're a visual learner, or just looking to save time, check out the attached screenshots. They follow the sequence of the help script below:

✅ To Ignore a Poster on a Specific Board:

1. Find a post from the member you want to ignore.
2. Open their message so you can see the full post.​
3. Look to the right of their username—you’ll see a small green down arrow.
4. Click the green arrow to open a drop-down menu of actions.
5. Scroll to the bottom and click “Ignore.”

That’s it! You won’t see new posts from that member on that specific board anymore.

⚠️ Important:

• The ignore function works on a board-by-board basis.  There is no "global" ignore setting. So, if the same undesirable user posts on multiple boards, you’ll need to repeat this simple process on each board.

🛠️ Customize Your Ignore Settings

Visit your Settings Page to fine-tune how the Ignore feature works for you. You can choose:

• Hide messages completely
  Messages from ignored users won’t show at all.
• Gray out messages
  Posts will still appear, but in gray text, making them easy to skip (but still visible in case you want a peek).
• Ignore replies to ignored users
  Hide direct replies to ignored posters—while still seeing all other messages from posters you haven’t ignored.

🧠 Tip: Graying messages is a great in-between option—it gives you control while keeping the board’s flow intact.

Make sure you've applied your settings and used the Ignore feature on each board where the user appears.
