🖋 How to Enable or Disable the Rich Text Editor (RTE)

Learn how to turn the Rich Text Editor (RTE) on or off in your settings to match your posting style and device.

📍 Step 1: Go to Your Settings Page

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. Navigate to your Settings page from the main header menu.

📝 Step 2: Check Your Current RTE Setting

  • Locate the Rich Text Editor option on your settings page.

  • The option with the blue bubble (radio button) is your current setting.

✍️ Option 1: RTE Turned On

  • Gives you access to a toolbar of editing tools:

    • Change font for emphasis (bold, italics, underline)

    • Check spelling

    • Insert hyperlinks and images

    • Upload files

  • Ideal for creating polished, formatted posts.

✍️ Option 2: RTE Turned Off

  • Posts will use the Plain Text Editor.

  • No formatting toolbar—simple, straightforward posting.

📱 Important Mobile Note

The RTE is not mobile-ready.
 If you attempt to post from a mobile device:

  • Our system will automatically detect this

  • It will silently switch you to Plain Text Editor in the background

  • This ensures you can still post a message instead of being blocked by incompatibility

🛠 Step 3: Make Your Selection

  1. Click the radio button for On or Off.

  2. Important: If you change your setting, click the green Save Settings button to apply it.

💡 Tip

You can switch between RTE and Plain Text on the fly while composing a message by using the toggle option next to the message box.
